Conceived as a single, integrated environment, Villa Cascada designs both the outdoor and indoor realms with the same level of intention: the exterior organizes leisure pool, BBQ, green areas, and sun decks while the interior maintains a calm, elegant language that extends the experience through material continuity, soft tones, and precise detailing.

Project Brief

Villa Cascada is a built residential project in Curaçao developed as a complete interior-and exterior intervention focused on a relaxed lifestyle anchored in outdoor living. The key challenge was to design the landscape and social exterior program as the main stage pool, BBQ, gathering and rest while ensuring the interior matches that ambition with the same clarity, comfort, and refinement.

The design approach is based on continuity: exterior and interior are developed under the same architectural rules clean geometry, controlled openings, and a material palette that stays calm and elegant. The outdoor zones are composed as a sequence of shaded and open moments around the pool and garden, while the interior is organized to extend that lifestyle through generous glazing, clear circulation, and an atmosphere that feels comfortable, curated, and consistently refined.

Our Solutions
01.
Outdoor-First Spatial Planning
The exterior is designed as the core program, not an accessory: pool, BBQ, green areas, and sun decks are laid out to support multiple rhythms—gathering, quiet rest, and daily use. This turns the landscape into an active living system that defines how the house is experienced.
02.
Thresholds, Shade & Comfort
Covered terraces and transitional zones extend usability throughout the day, balancing openness with protection. These shaded edges create comfort without disconnecting from the garden, reinforcing a calm, resort-like atmosphere.
03.
Volumetric Clarity & Framing
The architectural volumes are composed with clear geometry to frame views and organize daily life with precision. Openings and long glazed spans connect interior spaces to the exterior, making nature a constant reference rather than a separate scene.

04.
Interior Calm & Material Intention
A restrained interior palette supports elegance and comfort: soft tones, warm textures, and clean detailing avoid visual noise. The result is an atmosphere that feels carefully curated yet effortless, aligned with the outdoor lifestyle.
05.
Landscape Integration
Vegetation is treated as a design component that defines edges, privacy, and depth, strengthening the sense of immersion. The house reads as embedded in a tropical setting, with outdoor spaces designed to feel continuous and intentionally composed.

The interior follows the same logic: elegance is achieved through restraint, material intention, and clear proportions. Together, architecture and landscape form a unified system where daily living feels effortless, curated, and deeply connected to nature.

Design Philosophy

Villa Cascada is guided by the idea that comfort in the tropics is built through space shade, openness, and proximity to landscape rather than through formal excess. The architecture is composed to feel quiet and precise, allowing light, vegetation, and outdoor life to carry the emotional weight of the experience.
