Villa Alma
[Curaçao]
Villa Alma
Villa Alma is conceived as a tropical retreat where architecture becomes a framework for living in close connection with nature. The project is defined by its balanced composition, generous outdoor spaces, and a refined palette of natural materials that enhance the sensory quality of the environment.
Project Brief
Villa Alma is a private residential project located in Curaçao, designed to respond to the tropical climate through an open spatial configuration and a strong relationship with the landscape. The architectural strategy emphasizes permeability, natural ventilation, and daylight, creating a house that feels integrated with its environment rather than imposed upon it.
The project explores the relationship between architecture, materiality, and lifestyle. Natural stone, warm wood, and light-toned finishes are combined to create a tactile and elegant architectural language. The spatial organization of Villa Alma is conceived as a sequence of indoor and outdoor environments that support both social interaction and moments of privacy, resulting in a residence that is simultaneously sophisticated, comfortable, and deeply connected to its context.

Design Philosophy
The design philosophy of Villa Alma is based on the idea of architecture as a mediator between human habitation and the natural environment. The project embraces openness, permeability, and spatial fluidity, allowing nature to become an integral part of everyday life.
